I hope this finds you safe and well, in these most intense times. We have been amplifying our purpose in a world where artists need to be able to create on a scale larger than those who are destroying everything we hold sacred: namely freedom.

Please, will you join me in helping build a world with ever more awareness...
I love making art yet I feel the only way art loses its ego is when art is paired with purpose.
Therein, I came together with a global team with righteous integrity & prolific compassion.
Together we have formed
Rise Of The Butterfly
a non-profit that brings awareness and funding to those recovering from human trafficking. There is no greater honor in this life than to be an abolitionist, a freedom fighter. At
Rise Of The Butterfly we are not simply asking for charity we are offering collectible & wearable art. We are looking to form win-win situations and want to encourage you and your process of rising and transforming your own existence...
If you are able to treat yourself with a magnificent inspiration or are looking for unique gifts in the season ahead, we hope you will consider exploring the collection below and see what inspires you...

We Are Stronger Together.

This 30 second video says it better than I can in words, hence the power of art.

"Rise of the Butterfly brings us art and purpose.
What can be better than that?"

- Gloria Steinem

A word from Matthew Eversten the Creative Director at Moondog Productions:

"I knew immediately after being introduced to Layla Love and her work with Rise of the Butterfly that I wanted to help. Having the opportunity, working alongside Pete Kasko, Suz Grossman and Jess Miller at Moondog, we were honored to support in collaborating Layla with a video installation piece that captured the gravitas needed in bringing everyone’s attention to this necessary cause."  -Matthew Eversten

Tracking Rise to its roots...

Rise of the Butterfly is a non-profit founded by award-winning photographer, Layla Love who is mentored by our beloved Gloria Steinem, who has dedicated her life to helping women and girls. In Love's case, she had the humbling moment in Steinem's living room, where she was encouraged to pair her art with her purpose and so the concept of Rise of the Butterfly was born, and now, three years later we are approaching our second year. I am looking forward to pioneering ways to raise even more awareness solutions and compassion for those enduring the worst of all bondage, may we continue to Rise until all life is free. There is strength in numbers, thank you for joining our mission...*

What Would Helping Survivors Look Like?

You would never know it, but one of these four women is a survivor. She exemplifies transformation and why it's imperative to stand up and act now!
To me, the butterfly is the quintessential example of Metamorphosis. The complete transformation is when a caterpillar emerges from its cocoon as a beautiful butterfly, ready to spread its glorious wings and fly. It's amazing to think how women who have been through such horrific ordeals can emerge and not only survive but thrive!  by focusing on the light, the Divine and gathering their inner strength.

Trinity: Finding Sustainable Solutions to Eradicate Human Trafficking
by Connie Huntsman, Esq.
President, Trinity Human Rights Group

The Trinity Human Rights Group is a nonprofit dedicated to partnering with organizations, such as Rise of the Butterfly, to identify viable solutions to eradicate human trafficking and halt the escalating impact of climate change has on slave labor. Trinity’s Founder and President, Connie Huntsman, was a global Program Manager at the United Nations Development Group to streamline service operations worldwide between the four key UN agencies: UNICEF, UNDP, UNFPA and WFP.  She became acutely aware how human trafficking affects the most defenseless. By holding over 50 public speaking engagements on the subject, she came to understand how climate change affects the most vulnerable by destroying crops, property and livelihoods, causing migration, and leaving people desperate for work and easy prey for human traffickers.

To give back to the local community, Connie founded Trinity to research sustainable solutions and offer pro bono legal services to survivors of human trafficking, such as an indentured servant—hidden away for 8 long years forced to perform abusive work. Ultimately, through the support of Trinity, she triumphed by securing a T Visa and by receiving financial restitution through a court settlement. She is now facing her traffickers in criminal court while awaiting her United States permanent residency and attending a university to become an ICU nurse.

Prior to her legal career, Connie acquired knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) as a former Senior Engineer with Northrop Grumman Corporation, where she drafted and negotiated contract modifications for which she received a corporate Letter of Commendation and a rare A+ rating by government auditors. She discovered that financial power places corporations in a unique position to identify and remove labor violations within their supply chains and labor pools, and to assist the local communities in which they reside.
Based on this experience, Connie realized there exists a tremendous opportunity for public and private entities to push for greater environmental protections and ecologically conscious laws in conjunction with increased protections for those victimized by human trafficking. With her skills and expertise, she formed Trinity to bring together corporations, nonprofits, analysts and other stakeholders to examine cutting edge sustainable technologies that assist to restore and benefit devastated countries and their people.
Trinity is dedicated to exploring ways in which technologies can generate new jobs and increase employment with respectable wages, thereby reducing poverty and the vulnerability that contributes to human trafficking. Trinity provides corporate consulting on combating slavery in supply chains and government contracts, and offers trainings in several languages. Trinity trained such entities as the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the National Security Agency (NSA).  Trinity plans to travel to Ghana to assist the fishing boys on Lake Volta and work with members of the Côte d’Ivoire government to study their efforts on enhancing women’s rights and combating human trafficking.
Trinity and Rise of the Butterfly together are dedicated to supporting each other’s vision.  We are partnering to use Layla Love's captivating art to raise awareness and provide financial aid to those recovering from human trafficking. Part of the proceeds used in the purchase of Layla’s beautiful and meaningful art will benefit Trinity and those abused by traffickers who desperately need funds. It is a win-win for all.  On the Rise of the Butterfly website please find a 10% discount load code if you would like a portion of the proceeds to benefit Trinity.
Trinity is grateful for this opportunity to start a conversation with like-minded individuals on the role everyone must play if human trafficking is going to be eradicated and offer sustainable solutions in each installment of Rise of the Butterfly’s Newsletter.  Join the conversation at TrinityHumanRightsGroup.com.

guns all over the place::: make your mark: creative rather than))))

the time we are
living in calls on the deepest calling-- down into the core of us.
we are needing to go to the core of things. been around several times around the world
what a process, layer upon layer of learning the human condition.

I lived in london among many arab friends, I have had love that is female & love that comes from males.  I see them as different as traveling the ocean or mountains.  I see this life as a learning platform.

I have been around the world & see in dictatorships- the net- the pharmaceuticals, the sugar companies, the porn industry, the biting of religions, the media dance-- the hold shadow game---

move me away from it-- let me pour into the change-- let us all open our creative channel so sharing & SPEAK LOVE< PAINT UNDERSTANDING_ stand in solidarity against greed.

each of us working through our addictions, our weaknesses--Filling the space with compassion, new conversations with new understanding.

I will join the ones who are mapping star light to the place where heave meets eARTh-- where we look into each others eyes & see that love is the core of things-- still we are trapped in a web-- the addictions run deep-- the understanding of time is that it is precious-- that we have to move forward from this moment-- knowing that vengeance is not the way-- it is never the way--

it feels good-- to paw out your truth-- like here in writing-- feel what you need but lets trace the money and trace those holding us-- unwell yourself-- get back to the roots my friends-- let us find forgiveness in our family line & those who have done us wrong-- take care of the body temple-- the raw organic way-- clean the mind of colorings, phara, do service for each other each and everyday-- be kind-- we are all the victims of each other, also the healers of each other & yourself... myself-- go deep into our compassion-- widen our action towards being stronger, clearer, wiser::: I am calling on all my sisters & brothers around this globe that we stand in solidarity.  Every moment we our either adding to the creative or destructive force.

every moment you have a choice.

sometimes we all make turns that are not so great-- that is okay-- the course is rigged-- still we can make it.  I believe in us.  I believe in making our mark-- lighting candles-- changing laws--busting the system of terror-- and moving towards a deeper nectar-- we are starving for for soul-- so nurture that space within-- breath in the truth within the truth.

love to all life.

stand tall and face yourself

I woke up full of rage.  Feeling the injustice towards the women of this eARTh...

I know there is injustice to all beings, all life.  there is greed motivating it all as an undercurrent-- there are the wounds we all wear-- women, men-- all of us here on the human eARTh plan-- and all the extinction-- wiping out the innocent yet fierce wild cats of this world --

when we are down to less than 5000 tigers in the world and maybe even less wild women with a voice-- then how are we not to see the man as a hunter?

There is a deep desire in me live in peace, harmony & love.  I think most of us feel that so we do the best we can to make it so. ..  even if that means suppressing our truths to smile pretty.

and smiling pretty has a high cost:

1. The revenue of the U.S. cosmetic industry is estimated to amount to about 62.46 billion U.S. dollars in 2016.

2. Then all the chemicals we put in our body for those beauty fixes:

Indeed, inside all those gleaming bottles and tubes we take for granted lurks a cocktail of dangerous synthetic chemicals that research suggests may be responsible for everything from reproductive complications to allergies and cancer.
In her new book, Toxic Beauty, investigative journalist DAWN MELLOWSHIP takes a look at what's really in our cosmetics. ..

3. the lost of our nature, the beauty of being-- who we are-- that birth right lost to push to be cyborgs-- to wear masks, to fit in to molds we where meant to break.

-- not that I am saying let go in a way that is unhealthy... treat your body like a temple-- it fucking is... all life is made through our bodies-- yet we get treated with so little respect, a few are adorned, there is love and there is joy in playing with outter beauty.  I am not against it in healthy ways... I am not against it in a balanced world--so let's get back to bring that balance.

i have been on this life long journey of finding out what it means to be human, as we all have, the things I find have awed me, and the injustice -- is so wide spread:::

we are all walking wounded.

admit it. feel it. wash it clean.

come on join me in washing out the depths of your deepest darkest sore spots.

where is your heART broken and your soul torn?

i have been broken by war, raised by a single mother fighting against poverty and dis-ease...

of being left broken my a man who would rather have anything but the woman who bared his children--

a epidemic of men who do not honor the mother and seek the whore--

leaving the house wife and mothers longing for love, crying at night.
just like the whore- lonely and dreaming of love.  until we do not anymore... until almost all hope is lost-- like it is now- almost all over the world.

yes there are a few good men, a few great men,

there are many with great intentions-- but lost to the wounds and the ways of the world that teach them for eons that women are put on eARTh to serve them, look pretty like blow up dolls do...

and then the sweet docile ones--

knowing injustice is taking place and just sitting back and benefiting by default.

your silence is not welcome, or tolerated anymore-- it is not good enough to be good enough without helping your brothers rise in consciousness-- you are your actions NOT your intentions.

i benefit from being white-- by dealt-- i know it-- i understand the system and the ranking and i activity live the change to acknowledge this-- to speak it-- to change it actively .

I know several men in this realm of self declared healers that do sexual 'healing' work on women...
they speak to the noble cause and purity, yet if a older woman or a 'not so hot' women is on the table the sexual work is off the table-- so all the fucking justifications they have are bullshit.

I will no longer tolerate the intolerable.

I fucking would lead an army in this moment-- but you cannot destroy the masters house with the masters tools.

so we have to be wiser, see the birds eye view, find our way out of this maze of inequality. ...

because all of us want love and loving and joy and all the sweet stuff--

yet if we do not face the bitter stuff then we fucking rote and stink and invest others with our mess.

so clean up. clean the fuck up.

as within so without.

Bring to Life the Master Piece within. An Ode to Ernst Fuchs))))*

Today there is a show going on in Vienna in district 10:10-- It was there I spent one of the favorite moments of my life.

I felt like a child whose dreams where realized.  I wanted to grow up and be just like this.  I was in love with art the way one should be: deeply & completely.

To see Ernst Fuchs Villa, to watch him paint christ deep into the night.  I watch the magic of creation flowing like nigra falls from a man whose body was frail and worn so that you may think only a trickle of creation would find its way through his tired and worn views-- rather the rushing continued to plus from him in a way that there is no question that the spirit of creation was so alive in this man that he may have been a five year old boy or a teenager in love for the first time.

it was a perfect reflection of life in its wholeness- not just one range of the spectrum but as close to the whole thing as I have ever found: celebrated was the perverse and the profound, that of this world and that of the next and another beyond that.

There where hyper colors, stained glass, molded gold, humble pencil:: every medium had ben explored, every truth had been turned on its side like rocks turned looking for that one hidden key-- that one truth he was born to share.

What a profound and power-filled artist.

I strive each day to live more and more, to stretch further in the spectrum of our understandings.

Splash color across everything...

This is an ode to all beings brave enough to illustrate the profound workings of creativity.

With special thanks to Amanda Sage for inviting us into the realm where surrealism and the 3-d world become one.  If you are in Vienna you must make your way to this epicenter of bold brilliance.

May you be so inspired as to create until your last breath as Fuchs was....  long live the eternal.
